Let my people go...

For passover this year my mom and I decided to host it at her house for the first time.   We made it somewhat more of a "teaching seder" as it was predominately made up of "gentiles," in fact, if going by strict Jewish law, there was only one Jew in attendance - but that didn't get in the way of a good time!

Despite a HOT weekend, on Monday the weather took a turn for the cold and it sprinkled all day.  We were optimistic as the forecast showed a clearing at 4pm, but as the day wore on we panicked - we couldn't even set the tables outside - it was way too wet.  Thankfully our rental company was able to bring a tent at the last minute and the event was all the better for it!

As everyone came in we showed them a modern day CliffNotes version of the Passover story found here: http://www.aish.com/h/pes/mm/Passover_Google_Exodus.html

I really love sharing this holiday.  Everything from breaking the news to Luc that, "no, there will not be challah at this Jewish celebration," to the adult afikomen hunt made this Passover special and reminded me how much I enjoy some of the traditions.

Next year in Jerusalem!
